Elaine Walker AMFT #122899
Supervised by Rosemary McCracken MFT #86912
I work with individuals, couples and adolescents who are curious, sensitive and intuitive. People who are healers and therapists in training, artists, activists, seekers, adventurers, plant lovers, and/or witches. I work with people using creative and relational approaches to healing such as ancestor work, fantasy explorations, ritual, art, tarot and simply being together in whatever is.
Some topics that we can explore:
Ancestral trauma as well as ancestral relating and healing
Student loans, economic displacement and other forms of structural oppression as well as money magic and empowerment
Identity including race, gender, sexuality and queerness
Whiteness and awakening to a racist system
Embodiment, sensuality, somatic awareness, emotional regulation, mindfulness
Imaginal spaces and internal depths
Relational wounding and healing including finding a deeper sense of self, boundaries and agency
Adult children of addicts, adult children of emotionally immature parents, adult children who had to be caregivers at an early age
Grief, anger and anxiety in all its forms including climate anxiety
Major life shifts including break-ups, divorce, career changes, etc. and their composting
The internal critic and perfectionism
Living and moving in marginalized places, people with the experience of living “in between”
San Franciscans surviving in an ever-changing place
Dreams (both waking and sleeping)
I am currently offering both Telehealth and In-person Sessions. Clients must be based in California.

Individuals
Maintaining curiosity and compassion, we work together to uncover and unpack how our past relates to our present. I work with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds wanting to explore a wide range of issues including sexuality, trauma, body image and relational wounding. I believe working with the therapeutic relationship can be the alchemy important to healing. When we have been wounded in past relationships, true healing can come from being and experiencing something different in relation to another. I believe that grounding our work in the therapeutic relationship can help us deepen our understanding of how we show up in relation to others, process relational wounds, and develop a greater sense of self, choice and change within ourselves and our relationships.
-
Couples
Working collaboratively to create an environment where members of the couple feel safe enough to express and explore their genuine selves, we seek to move through ruptures in relationship and create deeper intimacy. Therapy can be a place of learning about one another so that we can understand attachment wounds, needs and attunement. I believe that although we are often wounded in relationship, we can also find profound healing in relationship and that our relationships can be a pathway to spiritual growth.

Adolescents
Adolescence can be an especially challenging time as developmentally appropriate transformations rapidly take place. Teens begin to develop a sense of self outside of their families and an increased need for independence. As they begin this process many teens struggle with how they fit into the world. Therapy can offer to support identity exploration and healthy relationship building. Working to create a safe environment, we creatively explore self-development and build tools for self-expression. Practicing expression in therapy can help clients feel more empowered to find their voice in the outside world.
